The
club meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month (except December) at 8
p.m.
at 6 Hickey Street Ardross. This is in Wireless Hill Park, near the
north
entrance off Canning Highway (not in the museum on top of the hill).

JANUARY 2008: A fund-raising auction. Following the success
of
last years' auction, we have decided to do it again. So spend your hols
clearing out that junk
box and shed and bring it
along.
FEBRUARY 2008: Guest Speaker will be Arthur Haywood.
Some
of you may remember Arthur from his time with Kriesler Aust here in
Perth.
MARCH 2008: Our guest speaker will be Owen Wintle, who was Spare
Parts
Manager with Carlisle's.
APRIL 2008: Club
member,
John Parker will give a presentation on
the history of early trams and buses in Perth.
MAY
2008: Tony smith will be presenting a 16mm
Surprise
Film
Show.
JUNE
2008: This is the Club AGM night to be followed
by a
Jumbo
Auction (Part 1), for members only.
JULY
2008: Tony Smith and Richard Rennie will be
presenting a short talk titled "16 2/3 rpm and Other Strange
Records". Members could also bring along their own strange
records.
AUGUST 2008: "Wire
Recorders - Talk and Display". The evening will include the story
of the restoration of a wire recorder, a short talk about the first
wire recorder (the Telegraphone), and a display of wire
recorders. This will be followed by Part 2 of the Jumbo Auction,
for financial members only.
SEPTEMBER 2008: Bruce
Devonish will present the history of The
Devonish Recording Studios in Perth. This is Perths' first 16
track recording facility.
OCTOBER 2008: 16mm film
and DVD night. Various social and
technical histories. Tony Smith will show two 16mm films,
courtesy of The National Film and Sound Archive: 1. "Maxinol -
The Gramophone"; 2. "Lets Look at Radios".
NOVEMBER 2008: Christmas
Party night! Hope to see some more wives this year. To be
held at usual Club Meeting venue at 8pm. The event will be
catered by a mobile wood-fired pizza vendor. Bring your own
drinks please. Non-alcoholic drinks provided by Club.
